Tepoztlán April 2023

Back in the land of duendes (goblins) and UFOs! We recently spent a weekend in Tepoztlán at the tail end of Semana Santa. The town was noticeably busier and drier compared to our visit in October, but the weather was fantastic—warm with only a bit of rain as we departed. Because it’s up in the mountains I was under the impression that it was cooler here than in the city, but on the days I checked it was actually about 3 degrees warmer.

This time, we stayed at Casa del Ángel. We revisited the portal hike and enjoyed several good restaurants, including La Cueva (great pizza), La Veladora, and a return trip to Los Colorines.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t made it up to the pyramid. This time, I procrastinated and either failed to notice or forgot that it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
