This is a great place to spend an afternoon. You can watch the fishermen and pelicans, hang out on the beach, check out the ruins of the old cannery, and enjoy a beautiful hike.

Parking
As you are heading there on the dirt road there is a fork. The left fork goes towards the cannery and the right one towards the hotel. To get to the beach take the one to the right and then follow it around the hotel parking on the left. You’ll eventually get around the hotel and see a parking area near the fishing boats.
The Hike
The trail for the hike begins next to the little chapel at the end of the beach. I started around 5:30 and it took about 20 minutes to get up on the ridge. From there you can go to the right for some beautiful views of the sea and cliffs, or left to head further up the ridge for some nice views towards the mountains and the coastline stretching north.
