Granby

I have spent a good deal of time in Winter Park, but had only really passed through Granby before. Driving through Winter Park I happened upon the Jazz fest, where Chaka Khan was playing. The place was packed.

I stayed 4 nights at The Inn at Silvercreek, which is a 70s-era resort with condos for rent. It’s set in a pretty area not far from Grand Lake and RMNP. You can hop on the Fraser to Granby trail about a block away, and City Market is about a 15-minute walk on a little trail that runs behind the resort. The resort is definitely dated, but it has a decent gym and a pool with hot tubs. My Airbnb was small but comfortable, and I had a lovely little patio that looked out on a small pond and the hills beyond.

An interesting place I saw that I might want to try out next time is Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains. It’s just outside of town to the west. From the road, it looked like a tiny house village, which it is in part, but they are short-term rentals. You can also rent larger houses, or an Airstream, or get an RV or Tent site.

If you’re looking for a place to stop and get a little work done, Rocky Mountain Roastery in Granby has a comfy area in the back with lots of space.
