Because the Denver Tech Center is part of Greenwood Village, I have historically thought of them as one and the same. My impression of it has been more of a business area than a neighborhood. There are some great homes and green spaces here though.
From where I usually stay at Boston Commons it is relatively walkable. Within a 10 to 15-minute walk there is a Target, a Sprouts, the Arapahoe RTD Park-N-Ride station, and Tommy Davis Park.
There is also a post office nearby that I use for general delivery since I can’t always receive packages where I am staying. A UPS store is conveniently located by the Sprouts for printing and package returns when needed. Also near Sprouts is a 7-Eleven with an Amazon locker where I have had a few things sent.
From the Arapahoe RTD Park-N-Ride you can get to Union Station in about 45 minutes on the light rail E line, or the airport on the AT airport bus in about the same amount of time. You can purchase all the passes on your phone now, which is awesome.
Tommy Davis Park
One of the highlights of my day when I’m in Greenwood Village is a morning walk to Tommy Davis Park and back. The path is beautiful and there are exercise stations along the loop around the pond. I run into a lot of friendly people here.
If you want a longer walk with a more secluded feeling, the path continues north under Orchard Road along Goldsmith Gulch and Orchard Hills Park.
Evidently, Tommy was Chairman of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Commission. He looks like he was a nice guy.
September 2022 Visit
I had a few things to take care of back in Denver before I headed back to Mexico, like selling my car and getting my things in order. It was more of a “get stuff done” trip and I wasn’t expecting much, but I rather enjoyed the 2 weeks I spent here. Fall was in the air. The mornings were crisp and a couple of storms floated through, but the weather for the most part was really nice.
